A good graphical abstract prompt describes the scientific story, the visual layout, and the editorial constraints. It should not ask the AI to guess the science.
Prompt structure
Start with the research context, then list the main entities, process arrows, result panel, and label style. Add the target output: journal graphical abstract, clean vector style, minimal text, and editable layout.
Example pattern
Describe the system, the input, the mechanism, and the outcome. Then specify "left-to-right workflow, three panels, clean labels, muted scientific palette, no decorative background."
Iterate with intent
Use the first output as a composition draft. In the next prompt, ask for specific changes: move a label, simplify one panel, increase contrast, or make the figure more suitable for a journal cover versus a methods figure.
